Overview

Libbo is an oral soluble film formulation of vardenafil, a selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, developed by Eve Health for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The product is designed as a thin, flat film that dissolves in the mouth (oral or buccal administration) without the need for water. This proprietary formulation is engineered to make vardenafil ten times more soluble, facilitating rapid absorption and a faster onset of action compared to traditional oral tablets. By inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, Libbo prevents the degradation of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which promotes smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow to the corpus cavernosum, thereby enabling an erection in response to sexual stimulation. It is currently available in Australia as a prescription medicine through the TGA Special Access Scheme Category B (SAS B) via telehealth partners HubMed and TeleDocs Clinics.
