Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Libertal** is a proprietary phosphatidic acid-enriched phospholipid mixture developed by Modus Biological Membranes for smoking cessation. It was designed to support recovery of cellular membrane fluidity during nicotine withdrawal, based on the hypothesis that chronic substance exposure alters membrane cholesterol-to-phospholipid balance and that phospholipid replacement may mitigate withdrawal-associated effects. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 2b smoking-cessation study evaluated doses of 0.5 g/day to 4.0 g/day in 493 volunteer smokers.
