Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Libivirumab is a human monoclonal antibody targeting the hepatitis B virus (HBV), specifically directed against the large envelope protein (L-HBsAg) of HBV. It has been tested in vitro for neutralization of HBV, demonstrating IC50 values in the nanomolar range. Libivirumab has been studied both alone and as part of the investigational combination HepeX-B (with exbivirumab) for hepatitis B prophylaxis and therapy. Its principal mechanism is the neutralization of HBV particles, preventing cellular infection[2][10].
