Licorice zinc is a mineral-organic complex consisting of zinc and active components from licorice (*Glycyrrhiza uralensis*), primarily glycyrrhizic acid. Developed and manufactured as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) by Shaanxi Fujie Pharmaceutical, it is used as a mucosal protective agent in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers. The zinc component promotes tissue repair, protein synthesis, and cell proliferation, while the licorice component provides anti-inflammatory and anti-ulcer effects by increasing gastric mucosal prostaglandin levels and inhibiting pepsin activity. It is also indicated for recurrent aphthous stomatitis (mouth ulcers) and zinc deficiency-related conditions such as pica and growth retardation in children.
