Licoricidin (also known as licorisoflavan B) is a bioactive prenylated isoflavonoid (specifically a hydroxyisoflavan) isolated from the roots of licorice plants, such as *Glycyrrhiza glabra* and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*. It exhibits a wide range of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiangiogenic, and antimetastatic properties. In preclinical studies, licoricidin has demonstrated significant antitumor efficacy against various cancer types, including breast, gastric, colorectal, prostate, and cervical cancers, often by inducing apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, and inhibiting cell migration and invasion. It has also been investigated for its neuroprotective effects in traumatic brain injury models and its potential as an active ingredient in topical anti-aging formulations due to its reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging and matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) inhibitory activities.
