Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination of lidocaine and vasopressin used primarily for local anesthesia. Lidocaine acts as a local anesthetic by blocking sodium channels in nerve membranes, preventing the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. Vasopressin causes vasoconstriction, which reduces local blood flow at the injection site. This reduction in blood flow decreases the rate at which lidocaine is removed from the area, promoting localization and retention of lidocaine in target tissues and extending the duration of anesthesia without significantly affecting overall circulatory dynamics.
