Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Inovox is an over-the-counter (OTC) combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by USP Zdrowie for the symptomatic relief of sore throat and mouth infections. The formulation typically includes lidocaine hydrochloride, a local anesthetic that provides rapid pain relief by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium channels, thereby blocking nerve impulse conduction in the oropharynx. It also contains two antiseptic agents, amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, which exhibit broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria and viruses associated with throat infections. Inovox is available in lozenge form and is indicated for adults and children to alleviate pain and inflammation in the throat.
