Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Orvex** is a co-packaged topical analgesic kit marketed by Florrax Pharmaceutical that contains a 5% lidocaine medicated patch and a 6% menthol roll-on gel. Lidocaine is an amide local anesthetic that blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in peripheral sensory nerves, reducing pain-signal conduction. Menthol produces a cooling counterirritant effect principally through activation of TRPM8 sensory ion channels. The lidocaine patch component is labeled for pain associated with postherpetic neuralgia on intact skin. The DailyMed listing identifies Orvex as an unapproved prescription drug product.
