Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LidoFlex is a branded, over-the-counter topical lidocaine patch product designed for temporary relief of localized musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain in extremities and other body areas. It contains lidocaine, an amide-type local anesthetic that blocks voltage-gated sodium channels in peripheral nerves, stabilizing neuronal membranes and inhibiting initiation and conduction of pain impulses.[9] LidoFlex patches are marketed in form-fitting, extremity-specific shapes to facilitate use in pain management programs and to provide site-directed analgesia without systemic anesthesia.[12] As a topical product, its systemic absorption is low relative to injectable lidocaine, but excessive or prolonged application can still lead to dose-related lidocaine toxicity similar to other topical lidocaine patches.[3][8]
