Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LiDORx is an FDA-approved prescription topical analgesic gel containing 3% lidocaine hydrochloride (30 mg/g). Developed and manufactured by Gensco Pharma, the product utilizes a patented transdermal delivery system designed to enhance the penetration of the active ingredient through the skin into affected tissues. It is administered via a proprietary metered-dose pump (MDose Technology) that ensures precise dosing (0.25 mL per pump). Lidocaine, a small molecule local anesthetic, works by binding to and blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in the neuronal membrane, thereby inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses. LiDORx is indicated for the relief of pain and discomfort associated with various skin conditions, including pruritus, pruritic eczema, abrasions, minor burns, insect bites, hemorrhoids, and anal fissures.
