Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lienal polypeptide is a biologic drug derived from animal spleen (typically porcine) that consists of a complex mixture of peptides and amino acids. It is primarily utilized in China as an adjunctive immunomodulatory therapy for patients with advanced malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), to enhance immune function and mitigate the toxic side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The drug has been shown to regulate T-lymphocyte activity, modulate serine metabolism via the SFXN1 transporter, and influence gut microbiota composition. Beyond oncology, it is being investigated for its potential in treating autoimmune skin conditions such as progressive vitiligo.
