Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ligilactobacillus salivarius PS11610 is a specific probiotic strain developed by Zinereo Pharma and marketed under the brand name Fertibiome®. It is a biologic therapeutic classified as a live biotherapeutic product. The primary indication for this probiotic is infertility, particularly idiopathic (unknown) infertility, and to improve success rates for couples undergoing assisted reproductive treatments (ART) like in vitro fertilization (IVF). The mechanism of action involves modulating the urogenital microbiome and the local immune system to correct dysbiosis (an unhealthy microbial imbalance). The strain has demonstrated antimicrobial activity against various urogenital pathogens. Clinical studies have shown that supplementation with a daily dose of 1×10⁹ CFU can improve pregnancy, delivery, and live birth rates. [2] The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has granted Ligilactobacillus salivarius a Qualified Presumption of Safety (QPS) status.
