ligustrazine phosphate

Ligustrazine phosphate (also known as tetramethylpyrazine phosphate) is a small molecule synthetic derivative of ligustrazine, an active compound originally extracted from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Rhizoma Chuanxiong* (Szechuan lovage). Developed and manufactured by Hainan Shuangcheng Pharmaceuticals as an injectable formulation, it primarily functions as a calcium antagonist. The drug exhibits potent vasodilatory, neuroprotective, and antiplatelet aggregation effects, which facilitate the expansion of small arteries, improvement of microcirculation, and enhancement of cerebral blood flow. It is clinically approved in China for the treatment of several conditions, including ischemic stroke, coronary heart disease, diabetic nephropathy, and knee osteoarthritis.
