Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Likang Fuyan is an antimicrobial gel developed by Xi'an Zhouliang Mingkang Biopharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd., specifically designed for the treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) and other forms of vaginitis, such as bacterial vaginosis. The active ingredient is silver ions (Ag+), which provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against fungi, bacteria, and some viruses. The mechanism of action involves silver ions binding to the microbial cell wall and membrane, causing structural damage and increased permeability. Upon entering the cell, silver ions interact with essential enzymes and proteins—particularly those containing sulfhydryl groups—and bind to microbial DNA and RNA, thereby inhibiting cellular respiration, metabolism, and replication. In China, Likang Fuyan is typically registered as a Class II medical device and is administered topically via a vaginal applicator.
