Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Lime Powder Regimen** is a Chulalongkorn University-developed, orally administered lime-based nutraceutical formulation for prevention of recurrent urolithiasis, particularly calcium oxalate stone recurrence after stone removal. The multi-ingredient regimen is derived from lime juice and peel and is enriched in citrate or citric acid, potassium, and lime phytochemicals including flavonoids. Its proposed activity is physicochemical and metabolic rather than receptor-directed: it increases urinary citrate, alkalinizes urine, supports urinary potassium availability, inhibits calcium oxalate crystallization, and may reduce renal tubular oxidative stress and inflammation. A multicenter randomized controlled Phase 3 study reported a substantially lower 2-year calcium oxalate stone-recurrence rate with LPR than placebo, with generally good tolerability.
