Overview
Linaget-D is a fixed-dose combination tablet developed and marketed by the Indian pharmaceutical company Dios Lifesciences for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It combines two oral antihyperglycemic agents with distinct mechanisms of action: linagliptin and dapagliflozin. Linagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that works by slowing the inactivation of incretin hormones, thereby increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon levels in a glucose-dependent manner. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor that reduces the reabsorption of filtered glucose in the kidneys and lowers the renal threshold for glucose, resulting in increased urinary glucose excretion. Together, these components provide a complementary approach to improving glycemic control in adult patients.
