Overview
LinearDNA-LNP is a therapeutic platform technology developed by LineaRx, a subsidiary of Applied DNA Sciences, that combines high-fidelity linear DNA sequences with lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery. Unlike traditional DNA vaccines that rely on circular plasmid DNA produced in bacteria, LinearDNA is manufactured using a cell-free, enzymatic PCR-based process. This approach eliminates adventitious bacterial DNA and antibiotic resistance genes, potentially improving safety and simplifying manufacturing. The LNP encapsulation enables efficient cellular uptake via intramuscular injection without the need for physical delivery methods like electroporation. The platform is currently being applied to veterinary oncology, specifically a canine lymphoma vaccine, as well as infectious diseases including SARS-CoV-2.
