Ling Gui Zhu Gan Granules

Ling Gui Zhu Gan Granules is a modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) preparation derived from the classic formula Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang, originally documented in Zhang Zhongjing's "Synopsis of the Golden Chamber" (《金匮要略》) from the Han Dynasty. It is composed of four key herbal ingredients: Fuling (茯苓), Guizhi (桂枝), Baizhu (白术), and Gancao (甘草). The drug functions primarily by warming yang, transforming retained fluid (温阳化饮), strengthening the spleen, and promoting diuresis (健脾利湿). Modern pharmacological research suggests its mechanism involves regulating water metabolism and influencing the transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1)/Smads signaling pathway, which is implicated in conditions like myocardial fibrosis.
