Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ling Shao Zaoren Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Xiyuan Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) for the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB). The preparation is composed of several herbal ingredients, primarily *Poria cocos* (Fuling), *Paeonia lactiflora* (Baishao), and *Ziziphus jujuba var. spinosa* (Suanzaoren). It is designed to treat OAB by addressing the TCM syndrome of heart-kidney imbalance, which is believed to contribute to urinary frequency, urgency, and nocturia. Pharmacologically, the formulation is thought to exert antispasmodic effects on the detrusor muscle and modulate sensory pathways involved in bladder control, although its precise molecular mechanisms remain under investigation. It has been evaluated in clinical trials in China as a potential alternative or adjunct to standard antimuscarinic therapy.
