Overview

Lingzhu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, presented as a granule, that is currently under investigation for the treatment of phlegm dampness polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), particularly in patients with insulin resistance. It is derived from the Lingshu formula, which primarily comprises six herbs: Epimedium, Curculigo, Atractylodes macrocephala, Angelica sinensis, Pinellia, and Arisaema. The molecular mechanisms of Lingzhu granule are being explored, with a focus on its effects on microbial flora, and its demonstrated efficacy includes improving insulin resistance, regulating hormonal and lipid metabolism, and reducing obesity.
