Overview

Lintitript is a highly specific and potent small molecule antagonist of the cholecystokinin type A (CCK-A, also known as CCK1) receptor. It was initially developed by Sanofi for the treatment of appetite disorders and investigated in clinical trials for conditions such as advanced pancreatic cancer and anorexia nervosa. By antagonizing the CCK-A receptor, lintitript blocks the effects of cholecystokinin, a neuropeptide involved in modulating feeding behavior and dopamine-induced responses in both the central and peripheral nervous systems. Although it showed promise as an appetite suppressant, development was discontinued after Phase II trials due to lack of efficacy or strategic reasons[1][2][3][4][5].
