Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lip-MSA-IL-2 is a **liposome-encapsulated, mouse serum albumin-fused interleukin-2** engineered for enhanced half-life and immunostimulatory activity. IL-2 is a cytokine that stimulates proliferation of cytotoxic T cells and NK cells. Lip-MSA-IL-2 is designed to improve pharmacokinetics and local delivery, with the mouse serum albumin (MSA) fusion extending cytokine stability and liposome formulation providing targeted release. Preclinical evidence shows Lip-MSA-IL-2 as monotherapy increases immune cell infiltration and accelerates progression from PanIN to adenocarcinoma in some models, while combination therapy (with TAB004 antibody) produces slowed tumor progression, increased survival, increased myeloperoxidase, and altered serum cytokine profiles in spontaneous pancreatic cancer mouse models. The principal mechanism is **immune system activation via IL-2 receptor agonism**, resulting in expansion of cytotoxic effector cells and modulation of the tumor microenvironment[1][4].
