Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Lipid-soluble vitamins for injection** (also known as **Fat-Soluble Vitamins for Injection II**) is an approved intravenous nutritional supplement containing a combination of four essential fat-soluble vitamins: Vitamin A (retinol palmitate), Vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol), Vitamin E (tocopherol acetate), and Vitamin K1 (phytonadione). Developed by companies including Shanxi Pude Pharmaceutical and Haisco Pharmaceutical, this formulation is typically prepared as a lipid emulsion or lyophilized powder for reconstitution, designed to prevent and treat fat-soluble vitamin deficiencies in patients receiving parenteral nutrition. Once administered, the active components undergo metabolic activation to engage their respective biological pathways: Vitamin A metabolites bind to nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RARs) to regulate cell growth and differentiation; Vitamin D2 is converted to active calcitriol to bind the Vitamin D receptor (VDR) for calcium homeostasis; Vitamin E acts as a membrane-bound antioxidant; and Vitamin K1 serves as a cofactor for gamma-glutamyl carboxylase (GGCX) to activate blood coagulation factors. The product is widely approved and marketed in China for adult and pediatric patients requiring intravenous nutritional support.
