LIPIKAR Med

LIPIKAR Med is a topical therapeutic product developed by Cosmetique Active International (a division of L'Oréal) in collaboration with Micreos. The product contains the active ingredient Staphefekt (SA.100), which is a recombinant endolysin derived from bacteriophages. Staphefekt specifically targets and lyses *Staphylococcus aureus* bacteria, including methicillin-resistant strains (MRSA), by cleaving the peptidoglycan layer of the bacterial cell wall. Unlike traditional antibiotics, it does not affect commensal skin bacteria, thereby preserving the skin microbiome. LIPIKAR Med is primarily indicated for the management of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis, where *S. aureus* colonization is a known driver of inflammation and disease flares. It is formulated for topical application in both children and adults.
