LIPO-5

**LIPO-5** is an investigational HIV-1 lipopeptide vaccine composed of five synthetic, monopalmitoylated long peptides containing multiple CD4-positive and CD8-positive T-cell epitopes from HIV-1 Gag, Pol, and Nef proteins. The peptide antigens correspond to Gag amino acids 17-35 and 253-284, Pol amino acids 325-355, and Nef amino acids 66-97 and 116-145; each is linked to a palmitoyl-lysylamide tail. It was developed for prophylactic and therapeutic HIV immunization strategies intended to induce HIV-specific cellular immune responses, including use in heterologous prime-boost regimens. Phase II studies in HIV-negative adults found sustained HIV-specific CD4-positive and CD8-positive T-cell responses, while a separate Phase I/II study with ALVAC-HIV showed limited cell-mediated immunogenicity and was halted after a possible vaccine-associated myelitis case.
