Overview

Lipo-PGE1 is a lipid microsphere formulation of alprostadil (prostaglandin E1), a potent vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation. The lipid emulsion technology encapsulates the active ingredient, protecting it from rapid inactivation by pulmonary enzymes and allowing for targeted delivery to damaged vascular endothelial cells. This formulation is designed to improve microcirculation and reduce peripheral vascular resistance. In clinical research led by Tongji Hospital, Lipo-PGE1 is being evaluated for its ability to improve coronary microvascular perfusion and address coronary microvascular dysfunction in patients suffering from ischemic heart disease, particularly those with comorbid type 2 diabetes mellitus.
