Lipoflavon

Lipoflavon is a liposomal formulation combining the bioflavonoid quercetin and lecithin (phosphatidylcholine). Developed by the National University of Pharmacy and manufactured by Biolik, Lipoflavon is designed to enhance the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of quercetin. It is utilized in ophthalmology as eye drops for corneal wounds, keratitis, and inflammatory conditions of the anterior eye, and in cardiology as an injectable emulsion for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina, myocarditis, and to prevent anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity. The drug exerts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, membrane-stabilizing, and cardioprotective effects by blocking the 5-lipoxygenase pathway of arachidonic acid metabolism and reducing oxidative stress.
