Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LipoNasal is a preservative-free, liposomal nasal spray designed to moisturize and stabilize the natural moisture film of the nasal mucosa. Its primary mechanism involves delivering phospholipid liposomes—mainly derived from highly purified soy lecithin—to restore and support the surfactant layer that protects the nasal lining. This stabilization enhances mucociliary clearance, supports self-cleaning and defense mechanisms of the respiratory tract, and helps remove inhaled particles, allergens, and pathogens. LipoNasal also contains dexpanthenol (a provitamin B5 derivative), vitamin A palmitate, vitamin E (tocopherol), sodium chloride, ethanol, and purified water. It is indicated for dry or blocked nose (rhinitis sicca), supportive care in rhinosinusitis or inflammation of nasal mucosa, secretion congestion in nose/sinuses, crusting/bark formation, post-nasal drip symptoms such as throat clearing or cough due to secretion flow at night. Clinical studies have shown it provides significant symptom relief with good tolerability compared to other moisturizing therapies like dexpanthenol ointment or saline sprays[1][2][3][4][5].
