This is a combination regimen consisting of three agents: - **Liposomal doxorubicin** (either pegylated or non-pegylated), an anthracycline chemotherapeutic encapsulated in liposomes to reduce cardiotoxicity and improve tumor targeting. - **Docetaxel**, a taxane-class chemotherapeutic that stabilizes microtubules, inhibiting cell division. - **Trastuzumab**, a monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). The combination is primarily used as neoadjuvant or first-line therapy for HER2-positive breast cancer. Liposomal encapsulation of doxorubicin reduces its cardiac toxicity compared to conventional formulations, allowing safer concurrent use with trastuzumab, which also carries cardiac risk. Clinical studies have shown this regimen achieves high pathological complete response rates and favorable long-term survival outcomes in HER2-positive breast cancer patients, with acceptable safety profiles[1][2][3][5].
