Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lipotriad Visionary is a multi-ingredient dietary supplement formulated to support eye and macular health, specifically targeting adults over the age of 50. Developed and marketed by Lipotriad LLC, the product is based on the AREDS2 (Age-Related Eye Disease Study 2) formula but utilizes a low-zinc concentration (17mg) and is entirely free of beta-carotene, making it a safer option for smokers. The supplement contains six key ingredients: lutein (10mg), zeaxanthin (2.5mg), vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and copper, supplemented with 250mg of fish oil. It is administered as a once-daily, dye-free softgel. While marketed for the support of macular health and the prevention of disease progression, it is classified as a nutritional supplement rather than an FDA-approved pharmaceutical drug, and the manufacturer received an FDA warning in 2021 regarding unapproved drug claims.
