Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LipovaksinS4-EAH is a liposomal protein subunit vaccine candidate developed by PT Bio Farma for the prevention of tuberculosis. The vaccine utilizes the Lipovaxin platform, which employs a liposomal delivery system to enhance the immunogenicity of specific mycobacterial antigens. The 'EAH' component refers to a recombinant fusion protein comprising three key antigens from *Mycobacterium tuberculosis*: ESAT-6 (6 kDa early secretory antigenic target), Ag85B (Antigen 85B), and HspX (Heat shock protein X). This combination is designed to stimulate a comprehensive immune response, including both humoral and cellular immunity, to protect against TB infection and disease progression. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials in Indonesia to assess its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
