Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lipovenoes + Omegaven is a combination of two intravenous lipid emulsions used in parenteral nutrition. Omegaven is a fish oil-based lipid emulsion containing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), while Lipovenoes is a soybean oil-based lipid emulsion. This combination provides a balanced fatty acid profile with both omega-6 (from Lipovenoes) and omega-3 (from Omegaven) fatty acids. Studies have shown that this combination may help reduce liver enzymes and bilirubin levels in patients receiving parenteral nutrition, particularly in post-abdominal surgery patients.
