Liproca Depot is an investigational, sustained-release formulation of the non-steroidal antiandrogen **2-hydroxyflutamide (2-HOF)**, designed for the local treatment of localized prostate cancer. Developed by **LIDDS AB**, the drug utilizes the proprietary **NanoZolid** technology, which enables a single intraprostatic injection to release the active ingredient locally over a period of up to six months. This targeted approach is intended to provide therapeutic efficacy in patients with localized prostate cancer, particularly those under active surveillance with low- to intermediate-risk profiles, while avoiding the systemic side effects typically associated with oral androgen deprivation therapy, such as sexual dysfunction and hot flashes. The drug is administered via an ultrasound-guided transrectal injection directly into the prostate tumor.
