Overview

Liproxstatin-1 is a ferroptosis inhibitor. It has been shown to partially alleviate anemia symptoms, increase the numbers of erythroblastic island (EBI) macrophages and EBIs, and reduce levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and lipid ROS in EBI macrophages in a mouse model of impaired erythropoiesis. This suggests its role in protecting EBI macrophages from ferroptosis to support erythropoiesis.
