Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Treprostinil (investigational code LIQ861, brand name Yutrepia) is an inhaled dry powder formulation of treprostinil, a synthetic analog of prostacyclin. Developed by Liquidia Technologies (a subsidiary of Liquidia Corporation) using its proprietary PRINT (Particle Replication In Nonwetting Templates) technology, it produces uniform, precise drug particles designed for optimal deep-lung deposition via a palm-sized dry powder inhaler. Treprostinil acts as a prostacyclin receptor agonist, promoting pulmonary vasodilation and inhibiting platelet aggregation. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH; WHO Group 1) and pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3) to improve exercise ability.
