Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Liqingtong granules** is an orally administered multi-herb traditional Chinese medicine formulation investigated for **hyperuricemia with a dampness-heat pattern**. The formula contains *Cichorium intybus*, *Cornus officinalis*, *Plantago asiatica*, *Poria cocos*, *Pueraria lobata*, and *Smilax glabra*. Its proposed urate-lowering pharmacology includes inhibition of xanthine oxidase, thereby reducing uric-acid biosynthesis. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study in patients with dampness-heat hyperuricemia was conducted at the 983rd Hospital of the Joint Logistic Support Force of the People's Liberation Army between March and August 2023.
