Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Little Parachoc** (liquid paraffin) is an over-the-counter lubricant laxative and stool softener developed by Care Pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Prestige Consumer Healthcare) under its 'Little' range of pediatric products. It is formulated as a chocolate-vanilla flavored oral emulsion specifically designed for the medical treatment of constipation in children aged one year and older. Liquid paraffin is a non-absorbable oil that works mechanically by coating the stool and lubricating the bowel wall, thereby softening the fecal mass and facilitating easier passage without stimulating bowel contractions. Because it does not contain bowel stimulants, it is suitable for short-term or long-term management of constipation under medical supervision.
