Overview

Liquid phase concentrated growth factor (LPCGF) is a third-generation autologous platelet concentrate derived from the patient's own blood through a specialized centrifugation process. Unlike traditional concentrated growth factor (CGF), which typically forms a gel or fibrin clot, LPCGF maintains a liquid state for a period, allowing it to be used as an injectable therapeutic or mixed with grafting materials such as deproteinized bovine bone minerals (DBBM). It contains high concentrations of growth factors including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β), and platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), along with CD34-positive hematopoietic stem cells and leukocytes. These components promote neovascularization, tissue regeneration, and anti-inflammatory responses. LPCGF is primarily utilized in regenerative dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery (particularly for temporomandibular joint disorders), and aesthetic plastic surgery for improving fat graft survival.
