Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LIS1 is a glyco-humanized swine polyclonal antibody (GH-pAb) developed by Xenothera as an immunosuppressive agent for use in solid organ transplantation. It consists of purified IgG directed against human T lymphocytes, produced in genetically modified pigs that lack the immunogenic sugars alpha-1,3-galactose and N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc). By eliminating these xenoantigens, LIS1 aims to provide potent T-cell depletion while minimizing the risk of serum sickness and hypersensitivity reactions associated with traditional rabbit- or equine-derived anti-thymocyte globulins (ATGs). The drug is primarily being evaluated as an induction therapy in kidney transplant recipients to prevent acute rejection.
