Overview

Lishitonglin is a hospital-formulated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) innovative prescription developed by the Department of Urology and the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine at Peking University First Hospital. Formulated as oral granules, it is primarily indicated for the treatment of preoperative non-severe urinary tract infections (UTIs) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in patients with urethral stricture. The formula employs the TCM therapeutic concept of "clearing the source and unblocking collaterals" to improve bacteriuria clearance rates and reduce the risk of postoperative stricture recurrence. It is currently being investigated in Phase 2 clinical trials as a potential alternative to conventional antibiotic therapy for urinary tract infections secondary to lower urinary tract obstruction.
