Overview

LIT-00505 is a small molecule inhibitor of Tyrosine Kinase 2 (TYK2) being developed by Shanghai Huiqi Biomedical Technology for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis. TYK2 is an intracellular kinase that mediates signaling for several cytokines involved in the inflammatory response, including interleukin-23 (IL-23), interleukin-12 (IL-12), and Type I interferons. By selectively inhibiting TYK2, LIT-00505 aims to modulate the immune pathways responsible for the development and progression of psoriasis while potentially avoiding the systemic side effects associated with oral Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials as an ointment formulation to provide localized therapeutic effects for patients with skin lesions.
