Overview

Litatiprone is a small molecule antagonist of the chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 cells (CRTh2), also known as the prostaglandin D2 receptor 2 (DP2). Developed by Guangdong Dongyangguang Pharmaceutical (HEC Pharm), it is primarily being investigated for the treatment of bronchial asthma. By blocking the CRTh2 receptor, litatiprone inhibits the activation and migration of Th2 cells, eosinophils, and basophils, which are key drivers of allergic inflammation. Clinical development has reached Phase 2 in China for persistent asthma, following Phase 1 studies that evaluated its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
