Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LiteVax-adjuvanted influenza vaccine is an investigational vaccine candidate developed by Litevax B.V. that incorporates a novel carbohydrate-based adjuvant. The adjuvant, LiteVax (LVX), consists of sucrose fatty acid sulfate esters (SFASE) and is designed to significantly enhance the immunogenicity of influenza antigens, such as those from H5N1 or seasonal strains. By stimulating both Th1 and Th2 immune pathways, the vaccine aims to provide robust protection and potentially allow for dose-sparing of the viral antigens. It is primarily being evaluated for its ability to improve vaccine efficacy in older adults and to provide protection against pandemic influenza strains.
