Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LiteVax UPEC vaccine is a prophylactic vaccine candidate designed to prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by uropathogenic *Escherichia coli* (UPEC). Developed by LiteVax, the vaccine utilizes the company's proprietary CMS (Carbohydrate-based Multi-component System) adjuvant technology to enhance the immune response against UPEC antigens. The project, known as UTOPIA and supported by the EUROSTARS program, is currently in the preclinical stage of development. The vaccine aims to provide a preventative solution for recurrent UTIs, potentially reducing the reliance on antibiotic treatments and addressing the growing concern of antimicrobial resistance in uropathogens.
