Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lithoren is a specialized dietary supplement, classified as a Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP), developed by MEDITRINA for the management and prevention of kidney stones (urolithiasis). Its formulation combines potassium citrate, magnesium citrate, and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride). Lithoren acts as a urine alkalizer, causing a dose-dependent increase in urinary pH and citrate levels. This biochemical shift inhibits the crystallization, aggregation, and formation of calcium oxalate and phosphate complexes, which are the primary constituents of most renal calculi. It is clinically used to prevent stone recurrence and to improve outcomes following lithotripsy procedures.
