Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liu Jing Tou Tong Tablet (also known as Liujing Toutong Tablet) is a traditional Chinese patent medicine developed and marketed by Jinsheng Da Ren Tang and Ren Yuan Tang for the treatment of headache, migraine, and localized headache. Formulated from a blend of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs—including Angelica dahurica (Baizhi), Magnolia biondii (Xinyi), Ligusticum sinense (Gaoben), Ligusticum chuanxiong (Chuanxiong), Pueraria lobata (Gegen), Asarum sieboldii (Xixin), Ligustrum lucidum (Nuzhenzi), Leonurus japonicus seed (Chongweizi), and Schizonepeta tenuifolia spike oil (Jingjiesuiyou)—the tablet functions by dispelling wind, activating collaterals, and relieving pain. Preclinical research suggests that the active components of Liu Jing Tou Tong Tablet may also exert protective effects against cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI) by targeting PTGS2 (COX-2), ALOX5 (5-LOX), and acetylcholinesterase (AChE), thereby reducing inflammatory responses via the NF-κB signaling pathway.
