Liuhedan Ruangao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) topical ointment primarily developed and utilized by West China Hospital, Sichuan University. It is a multi-component herbal preparation traditionally used for its heat-clearing, detoxifying, and anti-inflammatory properties. The formulation typically includes herbs such as *Rheum palmatum* (Dahuang), *Phellodendron amurense* (Huangbai), and *Curcuma longa* (Jianghuang). In the clinical setting, it is applied topically to the abdomen of patients suffering from acute pancreatitis to alleviate abdominal pain and reduce systemic and local inflammation.
