Liuhedan Plaster is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical preparation primarily utilized as a hospital-prepared medication, most notably at West China Hospital, Sichuan University. It is traditionally indicated for clearing heat, detoxifying, and reducing localized swelling and pain. The formulation typically consists of a combination of herbal ingredients known for their anti-inflammatory properties, such as *Rheum officinale* (Dahuang), *Phellodendron amurense* (Huangbai), and *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin). In clinical practice, it is applied topically to treat conditions such as phlebitis, skin infections, and postoperative edema. Recent clinical research has investigated its efficacy in managing postoperative recovery and reducing tissue swelling in patients undergoing surgery for head and neck cancer.
