Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liujin Qingwen is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule developed by Shandong Hongjitang Pharmaceutical Group as a Class 1.1 innovative drug. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of influenza and has been extensively studied for its efficacy against respiratory viral infections, including COVID-19. The formulation is designed to clear heat, detoxify, and resolve phlegm, addressing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and fatigue. Preclinical and clinical studies suggest that Liujin Qingwen exerts its therapeutic effects through a multi-target mechanism, including the inhibition of viral replication and the modulation of the host's inflammatory response by reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. It has progressed through Phase 3 clinical trials in China for both influenza and COVID-19 indications.
