Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Liushen Gel is a topical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by Changchun Leiyunshang Pharmaceutical. It is a modern gel adaptation of the classic Liushen (Six-God) formula, which traditionally consists of six key ingredients: artificial musk, bezoar, pearl, toad venom, borneol, and cinnabar (or realgar). The gel is designed for external application to treat inflammatory conditions, providing analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. It is primarily indicated for the relief of local swelling and pain, and is frequently used in the treatment of skin conditions such as herpes zoster and other localized inflammatory lesions. As a TCM product, it functions through the synergistic action of its herbal and animal-derived components to 'clear heat and detoxify' (Qing Re Jie Du) according to traditional pharmacological principles.
